Wakeup Copenhagen - Borgergade ★★

This place was great! In an excellent position: 5 min away from city center (stroget---the main shopping street, attractions, and the most connected metro stop). The rooms are very nice and modern. A bit small, but definitely ok. I loved the shower! The bed was comfortable. I would have enjoyed having a boiler or something to make coffee in the room (but if one wants tea or coffee, can buy it any time at the reception for a very reasonable price). The price is very convenient.

Breakfast can be improved. I liked the yogurt a lot, and the freshly baked bread was great. But the croissants were tasteless, there were no other pastries other than croissants, and there was not hot breakfast like scrambled eggs (there are boiled eggs but I am not a fan of that). So both Mediterranean looking for a sweet breakfast and center/nordic Europeans looking for a savory breakfast will be disappointed by the breakfast. Considering that one pays 100 DKK (about 13 EUR), I was expecting more.

It was located perfectly. Room was compact with nice window besides the bed.

It does have a minibar, carpet ground and because toilet is inside a glass cabin it smeela bad in the room. But tolerable.

The location is fantastic. Rooms are small but quite comfortable - perfectly fine for a night or two. Personnel is always super helpful and kind. Breakfast is your typical buffet - coffee is good, cheeses are amazing, bread is so fresh it's usually still warm.

Some more fruit, vegetables and greens would be good for breakfast.

Happy overall, very clean and great location. Would definitely stay again!!

Nice hotel good location

Few cleanliness issues with the room, stained duvet, hairs on shower room ceiling and marks on wall uncleaned.

The hotel is big with a large lounge/ reception area, perfect for relaxing if you don't want to stay in your room. I arrived a bit early but was able to check in and although my room was a bit of a long walk from the reception it was in a very quiet part of the hotel and felt undisturbed. Location was fantastic- right in the middle of everything and you can walk everywhere, as well as it being 5 minutes from 2 red line metro stations. 5 mins walk from the famous Nyhaven canal. Room was compact but perfect for a couple of nights exploring the city- it had all the space and essential facilities. Bed was very comfortable and clean- great nights sleep. Very clean generally. Not a negative for me, but if you want it you'll need to request to have your room cleaned the day before (pre-10pm).

I wouldn't recommend the room for a couple necessarily- it's smaller than average, the bed is a small double/in the corner of the room and there's probably only enough hanging space/ room for 1 persons luggage/ clothes. Bathroom is a 'pod' in the room- the walls are frosted glass so not a lot of privacy, again not necessarily suitable for 2 people sharing. There's an additional luggage storage charge of 20 DKK/ £2- not much really, but I know some people think it should be free of charge- it was easy to access and collect the luggage when you needed to.
